Cataract Surgery

The purpose of your lens is to bend (refract) light rays that come into the eye to help you see. Your lens should be clear, but it is cloudy with a cataract. Having a cataract can be like looking through a foggy or dusty car windshield. Things may look blurry, hazy, or less colorful. The only way to remove a cataract is with surgery. Your ophthalmologist will recommend removing a cataract when it keeps you from doing things you want or need to do.

Glaucoma Evaluation & Treatment

Glaucoma is an ailment that harms the optic nerve in your eye, primarily occurring due to an accumulation of fluid in the front part of the eye. This surplus fluid elevates intraocular pressure, leading to optic nerve damage. Glaucoma stands as a primary cause of vision loss among individuals aged 60 and above, but timely intervention can often avert blindness resulting from glaucoma.

Macular Degeneration Evaluation & Treatment

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a condition affecting the retina, specifically the macula. AMD results in the loss of central vision, making it difficult to discern fine details, whether they are nearby or distant. Nevertheless, peripheral (side) vision remains unaffected. AMD is highly prevalent and stands as a primary contributor to vision impairment in individuals aged 50 years and older.

diabetic eye exam & treatments

Diabetic eye disease encompasses a range of eye issues linked to diabetes, such as diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular edema, cataracts, and glaucoma. Diabetes can also impact vision independently, causing symptoms like blurry vision. Additionally, diabetes can harm the nerves responsible for eye coordination, potentially leading to double vision.

dry eye & ocular surface disease evaluation & treatments

To maintain eye health and comfort, our eyes rely on the presence of tears. When the eyes fail to generate an adequate amount of tears or produce the correct tear composition, it is referred to as dry eye. If you experience eye irritation, your ophthalmologist can provide treatment for these issues.

eyelid examination & treatments

An eyelid serves as a protective skin fold that covers the eye. There are both upper and lower eyelids, and numerous factors can influence or be associated with them. These factors encompass conditions such as Blepharitis, Chalazia, Styes, Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye), Dry Eye, Eye Allergies, Ptosis, and many others.

blepharoplasty & ptosis surgeries

Blepharoplasty refers to correcting eyelid defects for both functional and cosmetic purposes. It commonly involves removing or repositioning excess skin and fat for a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. Often, droopy upper eyelids (ptosis) are addressed simultaneously with upper eyelid blepharoplasty.

Routine Eye Exam

Undergoing an eye examination is a vital aspect of maintaining good health. According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, adults should undergo a comprehensive eye checkup at the age of 40, as this is when initial signs of eye conditions or vision alterations may manifest. Detecting eye diseases at an early stage is crucial, as it enables early intervention to safeguard your eyesight.
