Dr. Cho joined Serrano Eye Center Medical group in 1999 and took over ownership in 2010. He is a board certified ophthalmologist that has been practicing for over 16 years, providing patient-focused care, diagnosing diseases and problems of the eyes and eyelids and treating them both medically and surgically.

He has extensive experience in treating cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and other eye problems. His dedication and work in the community have helped to establish Serrano Eye Center Medical Group's reputation over the years.

Hans H. Kim

ABOUT

Dr. Hans Kim is a certified American Board of Ophthalmology surgeon specializing in retinal disease and surgery. Dr. Kim graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelors in Economics with Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. After graduation, he proceeded to teach at an inner-city school in downtown San Francisco where he gained praise for teaching excellence. During his first year in teaching, he was recognized by the principal for his outstanding service and writing innovative curriculum and was featured in the San Francisco Chronicle. After his work with UCSF medical students and HIV project, medicine piqued his interest and decided to return to school to become a physician.

He went on to attend one of the nation's leading medical schools, Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, where he was chosen as the class representative of the curriculum committee. He completed his internship at the University of Chicago/Weiss Memorial Hospital. Dr. Kim conducted his residency at the world-renowned Cullen Eye Institute, Baylor College of Medicine, and at a prestigious 2-year vitreo-retinal disease and surgery fellowship at Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center/Retina Group of Washington.

A published author on retinal disease, Dr. Kim has presented lectures at national and international meetings and has a strong interest in macular holes, macular puckers, retinal detachments, complex diabetic retinopathy, and uveitis. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, and the American Medical Association. He is now a full partner at Serrano Eye Center.

Edward W. Lee

ABOUT

Dr. Edward Lee is a fellowship-trained ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgeon, and a board-certified ophthalmologist. He specializes in cosmetic and functional eyelid, brow and midface procedures, as well as orbital and tear duct surgery. Dr. Lee is also a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, an organization comprised of the highest trained eye plastic surgeons. 

Dr. Edward Lee was born in Chicago, and grew up on the East Coast. His family relocated to Seoul, South Korea, where he attended high school. After graduating from Seoul Foreign School with an International Baccalaureate diploma, he returned to Chicago for college and medical school. He completed his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University where he double-majored in English literature and Economics. After graduating from Northwestern University Medical School, he received his residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Chicago, where he also served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Harvey Z. Klein Award for outstanding patient care. 

After residency, Dr. Lee completed a combined two-year fellowship in oculoplastic and orbital surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and at the University of Minnesota. This fellowship is one of the very few ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery programs accredited by the prestigious American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (ASOPRS). During his fellowship, he performed over a thousand eyelid surgeries, and 500 orbital and lacrimal procedures. Dr. Lee performs a full range of oculoplastic procedures and has a special academic interest in endoscopic techniques for brow and tear duct surgery, as well as Asian cosmetic eyelid surgery. In addition, he also offers nonsurgical cosmetic treatments with Botox and dermal fillers. ​ 

During his fellowship, Dr. Lee participated on an ophthalmology mission trip to St. Vincent-Grenadine where he performed reconstructive eyelid and orbital surgery for the indigent. Dr. Lee is happy to be a part of the Serrano Eye Center, which values the importance of medical missions.
