Adults should have a comprehensive eye exam at least every two years, more often if you have specific eye conditions or are at risk. Children should have their first eye exam at 6 months of age and then again before starting school.

Designed to reduce eye fatigue, the 20-20-20 rule says that every 20 minutes of screen time, you should look away at something at least 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.

Bring your current glasses or contact lenses. Bring a valid identification card and your insurance cards. List any current medications, health conditions, and eye drop medication. Prepare to answer questions about your eye health or concerns.

Early detection can prevent vision loss and make treatment more effective.
